Plastic bearings and extruded plastic components

Slideways manufactures a variety of standard and custom plastic bearings. Some of the most common types of plastic bearings we produce are roll end bearings, hanger bearings, metal mounted bearings, block bearings, and pulleys. We can also manufacture custom plastic bearings to most exacting customer's specification and quotes are generated quickly on our computer-based quoting system.

Custom profile machined plastic bearings

Custom machining plastic bearings allows our customers to avoid the sometimes, expensive prices and high minimum runs of extruded plastic bearings. Machined profile plastic bearings are most effective for prototype and short-run applications. They can also be made to closer tolerances then extruded wheel bearings.

Plastic extruded wheel bearings

Plastic extrusion is the process forcing or pressing a material out through a die. The plastic is melted and mixed in a molten state in a heated barrel then extruded through the die. The material is then pulled by a haul-off through a cooling trough, where it solidifies and then is coiled or in the case of plastic wheel bearing production cut to length.

Plastic wheel bearing inventory

We stock a large line of standard plastic bearings and plastic wheel bearings as well as blanks and raw materials so we are always ready to meet your custom plastic wheel bearing needs even on tight productions schedules. We can also customize out inventory to fit your requirements.

Roll end plastic wheel bearings

These wheel bearings press into tubing to manufacture rollers. Available for any size tubing or pipe. Roll end wheel bearings are generally made of UHMW but can also be produced in wood. Slideways can also manufacture rollers to your specifications.

Hanger wheel bearings

In addition to our plastic bearings and plastic wheel bearings, Slideways makes hanger wheel bearings in wood, UHMW and nylon, we can supply you with the best performing part for your applications. Shaft size: 1 " - 3 7/10".

Metal mounted wheel bearings (Self-Aligning)

Galvanized and stainless housings with UHMW, OF/UHMW, or wood inserts. Inserts can be made from almost any other material to fit your intended application (i.e. Teflon for high heat).

Block wheel bearings

Standard and made to order UHMW, OF/UHMW, plastic and wood bearings. They can also be made to any shaft size.
