Slideways – Custom Fabrication of Plastic Components
Our machine shop is tooled for a variety of parts from many different plastic materials. We can produce high-quality components for machinery quickly and at a competitive price. We can also create custom machine parts for existing equipment from customer prints or reverse engineer parts from customer provided samples.
CNC Router for Star Wheels, SlideTrax®, Conveyor Chain Guides
Our CNC Router is BIG! – with a machine area of 5-feet-by-12-feet and a 10-station tool changer. This enables us to manufacture a very large part, or many small components from a single sheet of material. On the CNC Router, we machine custom star wheels (to more than 48″ diameter), straight and curved SlideTrax for conveyor chain and custom sprockets.
Profiles and Chain Guides
Every year we produce miles of chain guides, belt guides and rail covers. Customers can order small quantities of special guides, without the high tooling cost and minimums required for an extrusion.
CNC Turning for Bearings
CNC lathes turn out OEM plastic parts up to 8 inches in diameter. We make an incredible variety of bearings, pulleys and rollers from our CNC lathes. We often machine the inside diameters so that a ball bearing can be snapped into the ID or pulleys and wheels.
Vertical Machining Centers
Our Haas VF-2, with its 4-axis capability and a 26-inch-by-32-inch work area, and the even larger Haas VF-4, with a 26-inch-by-50-inch work area.
